LOT Blue Devils February Blog

Dear LHS/CTEi Learning Community,
     It's difficult to convey how many great things are going on at our school in one place.  From our recent news of 100% graduation rate at CTEi, to our arts shows, to our playoff games, to our plans for the Science Fair and Social Studies Exhibition, there is a lot to celebrate.  Many of these events have already been shared through the local newspapers, via Twitter or Facebook.  In case you missed something, here are some additional highlights:
==========
The Leominster Principals K-12 met at CTEi recently for a professional "Learning Walk".  The focus of our meeting was to observe safety, differentiated instruction, teamwork an technology in the CTEi Shops.  This is what we saw:
Machine Shop Students had drilled the holes for the new test tube holders for the science department.
The Carpentry Students assembled them.

A new Youth Venture program led by Ms. Grimes called "Peer Initiated Tutoring" was awarded $1000, presented to the faculty and will start on March 10th helping students with the classroom every Tuesday and Thursday after school.  Any student needing assistance in any class can work with a member of the PIT crew:

The scheduling process for next fall is underway.  All students should have met, or have scheduled a meeting within the next week, with their guidance counselor on next year course selections.  Once that meeting takes place, the high school's master schedule will be established so be sure your course requests are accurate.  We cannot change requests for courses once the master schedule is established.
